Are you sick of skyrocketing electricity bills? Maryland families, seniors, and small businesses sure are. The costs are crushing them. Take a Baltimore-area family-owned grocery store, for example. They just got a jaw-dropping $57,960 electric bill from BGE. Families are seeing SMECO bills climb ...over $1,000. And it’s not just heating your home that’s breaking the bank. It’s raising prices on everything. This has to stop.
Here’s the kicker. It’s not just the cost of electricity driving these bills up. Up to 30% of what you’re paying could be hidden fees and taxes buried in the fine print by utility companies. That’s right. Your hard-earned money is being siphoned off for taxes, fees, and who knows what else, all while politicians in Annapolis turn a blind eye.
A few years ago, Annapolis stepped in with emergency gas tax relief. So, why can’t they do the same for electricity?
The truth is, radical Green Energy policies championed by Annapolis lawmakers are sending your energy bills through the roof. And while Governor Wes Moore makes big promises, his legislation does nothing to lower your costs. Instead, the state just keeps piling on fees and taxes, making life even harder for Maryland families and businesses.
Let’s be real. If our leaders were serious about lowering energy costs, they’d stop the political posturing and start cutting the costs within their control. Enough is enough. Marylanders deserve real solutions. Not more lip service. On Wednesday, the Maryland Freedom Caucus and Congressman Andy Harris will hold a press conference on skyrocketing electricity bills.
We could use your help.
Join the fight. Sign the Maryland Freedom Caucus petition to HALT the taxes and fees on your energy bills and demand real action. When you sign, an email will be sent directly to the Governor, Senate President, and Speaker of the House. Let’s hold them accountable and stop this madness. Link is in the comment section.
Am I sure you've heard of DEI? (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) I want to show you what it looks like inside legislation.
HB278 removes the requirement of being 55 and older to serve on the Commission of Aging and replaces it with the following language:
TO THE EXTENT PRACTICABLE,... COMMISSION MEMBERSHIP SHALL REFLECT THE AGE, RACE, ETHNICITY, DISABILITY, GENDER IDENTITY, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, IMMIGRANT HERITAGE, LIVED AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, AND REGIONAL GEOGRAPHIC REPRESENTATION DIVERSITY OF THE STATE.
What is your opinion of this change?
I'm just like you-- I can't read 🤦♀️ THIS IS THE DEMOCRAT PARTY.

Didn’t @GovWesMoore ban ‘ice’?
Del. Matt Morgan, a St. Mary’s County Republican who chairs the caucus, told The Baltimore Sun that prioritizing the 287(g) agreements went against public expectations to focus on kitchen table issues.

Del. Matt Morgan, a St. Mary’s County Republican who chairs the caucus, told The Baltimore Sun that prioritizing the 287(g) agreements went against public expectations to focus on kitchen table issues.
“The public is expecting [a] safer, more affordable, more prosperous Maryland,” ...Morgan said. “That’s not what they are getting. They’re getting activist legislation that I don’t see how in the world it makes us any safer as a society.”
On a side note, there will be three more anti-ICE bills coming to the House floor this week, including a bill to digitally harass ICE agents.
