Wes Moore said, “Leave no one behind.” Yet here he is, leaving millions of Marylanders without a voice in Congress.
He and the Annapolis Democrats called a special session. They ignored their own election laws. They trampled the Maryland Declaration of Rights; they stripped the compact, contiguous, and respect-to-natural-boundaries requirement from the Maryland Constitution. All to wipe out Maryland’s only Republican Congressional seat.
We sued them. We won, but did not get the remedy we wanted.
Instead of removing the unconstitutional question from the ballot, the justices decided to do the General Assembly’s homework and rewrite it themselves.
Question 3 still remains confusing and a blatant violation of the constitutional single-subject requirement.
The win feels like a loss, but let’s be clear: losing this battle does not mean losing the war. The election is only 56 days away. This ruling puts an even bigger target on our backs, and the Annapolis Democrat House Caucus already holds a significant money advantage.
Governor Wes Moore came out over the weekend with a firm commitment to use his war chest and presidential ambitions to go after House Republicans to further eliminate any opposition to his radical agenda.
They have the money. They have the machine.** **But they also have a track record: the largest tax increase in Maryland history, skyrocketing electric bills, and a multi-billion-dollar surplus turned into a multi-billion-dollar deficit.
Maryland voters haven’t forgotten. And neither have we.
