Stop the Release of Criminal Illegal Aliens

Does it make sense that a criminal illegal alien, already sitting in a secure jail cell for a crime committed in our community, should be released back into your neighborhood instead of being handed over to federal authorities?

While families across Maryland demand safer streets, Annapolis Democrats are prioritizing radical ideology over your security. They are pushing dangerous legislation to end the 287(g) program—a vital partnership that allows local correction officers to cooperate with ICE to remove dangerous offenders from our communities. Two recent polls confirm that the majority of Marylanders want ICE and local law enforcement to collaborate to remove illegal alien lawbreakers from our communities. Ignoring these polls is ignoring the will of the people.

Why We Must Stand Together:

This isn’t just about immigration; it is about common-sense public safety. The 287(g) program facilitates the transfer of arrested criminals to federal custody directly from the secure environment of a jail. Local authorities can choose whether or not to participate in the program. If this collaboration ends, federal laws do not cease to exist. Instead, ICE agents will be forced to go into our neighborhoods, workplaces, and communities to apprehend these individuals. Which scenario creates a safer environment for your family? A controlled transfer behind bars, or federal operations taking place on the streets where your children are walking to school or riding a bike?

Addressing the Critics:

Opponents claim that cooperation with ICE damages community trust. But we have to ask: How can a community trust the Maryland General Assembly when it prioritizes the freedom of convicted criminals over the safety of law-abiding citizens? True trust is built when a government enforces the law and protects its people.

Take a Stand for Law and Order:
